About NFL

NFL - Chennai is established on PPP mode between FSSAI and NCML Labs for Testing and Certification.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has established National Food Laboratory at Chennai Port Trust (CPT) in Chennai. NFL, CPT, Chennai has come up in a PublicPrivate-Partnership (PPP) mode with National Commodities Management Ltd. (NCML) NFL, CPT, Chennai is spread across 14,057 square feet and located on the second and third floor of Central Documentation Complex, Chennai Port Trust, Chennai.

NCML has commissioned NFL CPT Chennai with state of an art facility and advanced technologies to analyze the sample for food quality, microbiological safety, detection of genetic modification, the authenticity of items, and determination of contaminants at an ultra-trace level. NCML is a leading organization in India with a vast network of laboratories to offer various services, including surveillance, inspection, sampling, testing, training, and certification.

These services are used by farmers, traders, food processors, exporters, promotional and regulatory bodies of govt, and other stakeholders to ensure the quality and safety of water, agricultural produce, and food products.
